Within the next decade, the age 18-21 population of British Columbia (one of our traditionally primary enrolment populations)- will decline by 3.6%.
For example, the age 25-29 population of British Columbia will actually grow by 21% during the 2004-2014 period, and immigration continues to outpace domestic population growth.
While historically supported primarily from the Provincial Government, this revenue source to the University has dropped dramatically as a proportion of overall operating funding: from 69.2% in 2000/01 to 53.9% in 2004/05.
