FOR DISCUSSION
At its April, 2012 meeting, Senate approved changes to GGR 1.9.4. In part, these changes
included a move to circulate PhD theses electronically prior to examination.
The proposed changes to GGR 1.9.2 Preparation for Examination of Master's Thesis will bring the
distribution
method for master's theses into alignment with the distribution method already in
place for PhD theses. In addition, the proposed changes eliminate the requirement that a copy
of
master's thesis be available for viewing prior to examination. This aspect of the current policy is no
longer in practice and it is not in alignment with policy regarding PhD examinations.
