RATIONALE
All 400-level Business courses were updated for Fall 2013 to include BUS 360W as a prerequisite. During this update the order
of the prerequisites for BUS 421: Accounting Theory were mistakenly rearranged, resulting in the distinction of BUS 207 from its
equivalents (ECON 201 or ECON 301). In turn, the current prerequisites
suggest that a student needs both (BUS 207 and one
of ECON 201 or ECON 301) in order to take BUS 421, when in fact they only need BUS 207 or one of its equivalents (ECON
201 or ECON 301).
Thus, we request to reinstate the original, accurate formatting of these prerequisites.
Does this course replicate the content of a previously approved course to such an extent that students should not receive credit for both courses?
If so,this should be
noted in the prerequisite.

The reason for the course title change for BUS 237 is for alignment of this introductory course with the Certificate in Business
Technology Management (BTM). The title change is cosmetic in nature and this request will not impact the course content,
learning objectives, credit value, or prerequisites. The status of the course will remain exactly as is now. This change was
agreed upon during the MIS Area meeting held on March 13, 2013.
