SGSC:Agenda Item - CMNS 860 Course Change (CMNS)
    GS2013.10
    www.fcat.sfu.ca
The following changes were approved at the FCAT GSC meeting on February 5,2013.
    1)CMNS 860 Graduate Colloquium - Title
    and Course Change
    The School of Communication
(CMNS) at Simon Fraser University (SFU) proposes to
change the course title and description for CMNS 860 to align it with the MA Double
Degree rather than to create an entirely new course. The course title has been changed to
    "Graduate Colloquium in Global Communication".
The essential content of the course -
students developing and dialoguing their work with each other and with a Faculty
    Supervisor - remains very similar.
    2) Resultant calendar changes to the program requirements for the CMNS MA
    • deletion of all references to CMNS 860-3
    3) Resultant calendar changes to the program requirements for the SFU-CUC, Master of Arts
Double Degree Program in Global Communications
inclusion of CMNS 860-3 in "all students must complete...."
Please consider this item for the agenda of the March 4th SGSC meeting. Thank you for your
    attention to this matter.
