MEMORANDUM
SCUS 12-49a
To: Alex Clapp, Chair, Faculty of Environment Curriculum Committee
From:
Bob Muir, Undergraduate Program Chair, Archaeology
Re: Dept. of Archaeology Undergraduate Curriculum Item for Review and Approval
Date:
October 10, 2012
At a recent (October 2, 2012) meeting of
the
Archaeology Department Undergraduate
Executive Committee the following Program/Calendar change was proposed, discussed,
and approved.
Proposed Calendar Change:
Archaeology Honours Program - Revision of wording (see appended document)
Notes: At a previous FENV CC meeting (April 12, 2012), changes and corrections were
approved to the calendar description for the Archaeology
Honours
program.
Subsequently, additional minor wording changes were made by Duncan Knowler at the
Gune 7, 2012) SCUS meeting and all changes
were
then approved by Senate on July 9,
2012. Collectively these changes have resulted in a highly ambiguous and incomplete
description of the program requirements. Our proposed wording changes presented here
are intended to provide a clearer description of the program requirements and admission
criteria. The GPA requirement described below are in accordance
with the
university
requirements for an honours degree.
Sincerely,
Bob Muir
Senior Lecturer
Undergraduate Program Chair

RE B-Soc addition
DATE November 19, 2012
TIME 4:44 PM
The University Curriculum Office has approved the addition of B-Soc
designations to the following cross-listed
REM courses approved at SCUS in
July 2011:
REM 201 Introduction to Sustainable Community development
(cross-listed with existing SCD 201 B-Soc)
REM 301 Sustainable Community Development Theory and Practice
(cross-listed with existing SCD 301 B-Soc)
At the time the REM courses were put through as new course proposals, the
Faculty of Environment was unaware that the designations attached to the SCD
versions would not automatically transfer to the new REM versions. The B-Soc
designations should be attached to both cross-listed versions.
