Rationale:
Removal of the Collaboration Stream in the Music Area
The music program is simplifying its BFAprogram choices by offeringtwo streams insteadof three.
The Composition and Electroacoustic Streams will continue to be offeredas the official BFA
program choices in music. The (Collaboration streamis beingdropped from the official curriculum
in an effort to clarifyand simplify our musicprogram offerings. Our research shows that most
music students engagein Collaborative practices as a naturalpart of their music studiesat SFU,so
we will continue to advertise Collaboration as one of the unique features of music study at SFU.
However, there won't be an official Collaboration stream within the Music BFA.
