Inservice Program
This course is designed for elementary school teachers who are interested in
developing their 1) knowledge, 2) skills, and 3) understanding in intermediate
dance. It will enable them to create a dance program in their classes and their
schools. The focus will be on creative rhythmics and folk dance, and will provide an
excellent opportunity for those who have never had dance experience, and in fact may
have hated dance, to discover a new and exciting way of introducing it into their
classrooms.
ASSIGNMENTS:

PHASE 2 - SPRINS_SEPIESTER -DANCE FESTIVAL
1)
The proposal of a distict wide DANCE FESTIVAL is presently being discussed. This
would be a cooperative involvement of several of the schools in the district, a
festival involving as many of the course participants from the fall course as
possible.
2)
Course participants from the Fall Semester will have the option of involving
themselves in Directed Studies Courses in the Spring. These may be independent
projects developed from their previous semesters work. Details and procedures for
this credit option will be available in mid October, 1985.
3)
Possible video tape project and/or research project.
