Calendar Description:
The question, "Why Peace Education?" will be addressed.. The
social, political, technological, environmental and ethical content of
this question will be examined within an environment of the major
global issues of our time, the "global problematique". The anatomy of
the nuclear age will be dissected.. Several contrasting models of
peace education will be analyzed in terms of their underlying
assumptions, overt goals and relevance to the global problematique. A
new model of peace education (the "ecological model") will be
proposed, illustrating linkages and connections not only between the
major global issues but between students' feeling, thinking and
acting..

models of peace education..
