EDUCATION 487_4: ADVANCED EDUCATIONAL MEDIA
SUMMER SESSION, 1974
LIMIT: 15 STUDENTS PERMISSION OF INSTRUCTOR REQUIRED
PREREQUISITE: EDUCATION 463
As a follow-up to Education 463, the objective for Education
487 is to provide an indepth learning experience in the concepts
and application of educational media. In particular, the following
processes will be carried out:
1)
Seminars on the conceptual level of educational media.
Topics include: Principles of "educational" communication;
Media for Individualizing Instructions; Learning Systems;
Teaching Machines and Computer Based Instructions; and
more.
2)
Tutorial "think tanks" for the purpose of assisting each
student's project by suggestions and feedback from fellow
students.
3)
Group learning experiences in the field. For example,
the group will produce an educational television program
at Provincial Educational Media Centre. Also the group
will spend a full day at Mount Currie as media resource
people to assist the Mount Currie Community School; and
more.
