PREREQUISITE:
Instruction will be given in English and French
CALENDAR DESCRIPTION:
This course deals with a variety of approaches, teaching
strategies and curricula for teaching French as a second language in
elementary schools.
OBJECTIVES:
The participant will acquire a better understanding of the
theories, approaches and methodology in the teaching of French as a
second language; examine the linguistic, social and cultural goals of
the BC FSL curriculum framework and their applicability to Year
2000 philosophies and practices; examine course materials used in
programs for French as a second language in British Columbia; study
and practise teaching techniques; acquire skills in evaluating second
language teaching and learning; improve linguistic competence and
confidence. The focus will be on the practical application of the
above.

interaction

-The curriculum and commerial programs in B.C.
