PREREQUISITE
EDUC 401/402 and FREN 206. Instruction given in French & English.
CALENDAR DESCRIPTION
This course deals with a variety of approaches, teaching strategies and curricula for
teaching French as a second language in elementary and secondary schools.
OBJECTIVES
The participant will acquire a better understanding of the theories, approaches and
methodology in the teaching of French as a second language; study aspects and
application of current curriculum (linguistic and cultural) and course materials used
in French as a second language programs in British Columbia; study and practise
teaching techniques; acquire skills in evaluating second language teaching and
learning. The focus will be on practical application of the above.
