PREREQUISITE:
Educ. 401/402 or equivalent.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to enable students to plan and implement an
elementary school physical education program, as outlined by the Ministry of
Education curriculum guide. Sessions will be both theoretical and practical
in nature. Specifically the course will focus upon program organization,
teaching strategies, and curriculum content in the areas of games,
gymnastics and dance. Many practical activities will be introduced which
are suitable for use in the school setting.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
1. Students will select one grade level and plan a yearly
program in physical education for use in schools. The
assignment will include goals and objectives, philosophy,
teaching methodology, curriculum content and several
sample lessons. ?

Students will develop one modified game to be presented
to the class (all ideas will be compiled by the instructor
for future reference).
