    LOCATION: on campus
    A basic physical education course designed to provide teachers
    with the knowledge and competence to develop and teach physical
    education to children in the primary grades. The course will
    emphasize curriculum planning, instructional strategies and
    selected physical acitivities for this age level, in the areas
    of games, gymnastics, dance and aquatics. The course will he
    mostly practical in nature, with an emphasis in "learning by
    doing".
    TOPIC OUTLINE:
    The following topics will be covered in this course:

    Physical education in the elementary school curriculum;

    The child and movement experiences;
    3.
    Developing a physical education curriculum;
    4.
    Instructional activities;
    S. Posture and physical fitness;
    6.
    Intramural and extra class programs;
    7.
    Coping with exceptional children;
    8.
    Contemporary issues in elementary school physical
    education, and
    9.
    Implications of daily physical education.
