This course is designed to assist students in planning Physical Education

programs for the Secondary Schools in B.C. The central focus of this

course will be to provide students with a theoretical understanding of

curriculum development, teaching strategies, pupil program and teacher eval-

uation and unit planning. This will be achieved through theory and practical

sessions in selected instructional activities of the Secondary P.E. program.

There will be an opportunity to analyse teaching strategies through the use

of video.

Assignments.

1.

Students will prepare, write and teach four lessons on selected

skills. Special emphasis will be on teaching strategies, organisation,

and adaptability to co-education.

2.

Students will be prepared to discuss weekly assigned readings.
