COURSE OBJECTIVES
Understanding and creating musical structures.
STRATEGIES
1.
Music literacy - vocabulary and concepts concerning the elements of music
(duration/rhythm, pitch/melody, timbre, texture, dynamics, form), will be
developed through listening, singing, discussing and creating with various
acoustic and electronic sound sources.
2.
Teaching strategies - research on a topic will be conducted (music method,
composer, style, technology); integration of musical concepts and skills with
other curriculum areas will be developed; a sequential music unit will be
planned; learning in this course will be experiential to aid development of a
comfortable teaching style and understanding of students' needs.
