COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course will introduce beginners to foundations of art education which ic1udes
elements of art and design.

Students of the course will explore creative processes ind the
application of art with respect to the age/grade/subjects of students they teach. Pocesses
of art, value of art in education, art history and assessment will be explored within ; studio
based atmosphere.
OBJECTIVES
1.
Understand the theory and practice of several studo processes based on hands on
experience.
2.
Complete sketchbook assignments designed to explore the elements of art.
3.
Understand the purpose of art and art education.
4.
Demonstrate an understanding of curriculum planning by developing a project tt
they write and illustrate.
5.
Participate in historical and analytical discussions that relate, to IRP learning out
bmes
and assessment.

Goals of art education curriculum, hands on learning of art/studio prcesses,
examining/evaluating historical and contemporary art; and developing resouries for
individual teaching situations,
