OBJECTIVES
The student will:
- study selected philosphies of Child Art Education and the creative expression of
children.
- survey the materials and making of art as appropriate to elementary teaching.
- survey methods of viewing and responding to visual imagery as appropriate to
elementary teaching.
- consider the position of art in historical and contemporary society.
- use the B.C. Fine Arts Curriculum Guide to develop lessons and units in visual
arts.

children's artistic development; the evolution of institutional art;
A Survey of Media
and Techniques: Viewing and Responding to Art:
approaches to crticial looking;

Developing Art Lessons:
creative planning and creative
learning.
