Range of Topics
This will be determined by members of the course during the first sessions,
but whichever mathematical topics are selected, it is intended to discuss
as appropriate the hierarchy of concepts involved, suitable materials and
activities, and underlying mathematical and psychological structures. We
shall throughout examine the pedagogical reasons for learning mathematics,
and the nature of mathematical activity, by considering mathematics at both
child and adult levels.
