    Range of Topics
    The course is designed for teachers and prospective teachers of elementary
    and junior secondary school mathematics. The focus of the course will
    be on at least the following:
    - use and selection of material and other aids in the teaching of
    mathematics
    - humanizing the teaching of mathematics by utilizing the powers of
    children.
    Each student will be expected to complete a term project and other
    such assignments as are agreed upon among the participants. Everyone
    will be encouraged week by week to work with children using what
    is being studied.
    Topic-wise an intensive and extensive study will be made of these among
    others:
    - whole number concepts
    - operations (algebraic and arithmetic)
    - fractions, decimals, percentages
    - relations
