This course will focus on developing knowledge, skills and strategies to create a stimulating and balanced
English/Language Arts program. Issues in the six Language Arts strands will be examined through current
theory and practice. The course will provide the opportunity to examine your understandings about the ways in
which students use language in communicating and meaning making.
Participants will take part in seminars, group work, literature responses, classroom field studies, demonstrations,
and completion of a literacy unit. You will be invited to consider your own literacy learning and ways to integrate
