    Objectives:
    This course will provide an opportunity for the student teacher/
    teacher to:
    - examine prevalent approaches to Language Arts teaching
    - explore planning, classroom practices and evaluation ideas in
    each topic area
    - develop strategies and materials for classroom use in reading,
    writing and oral language development
    - consider Language Arts as an interactive process of developing
    thought and language

    - attend and participate
    - complete assigned readings in each topic area
    - complete a written assignment for each topic area
    - prepare examples of classroom activities in each topic area
