    CALENDAR DESCRIPTION:
    Planning for learning; creating learning environments; developing teaching
    strategies and materials.
    Depending upon the experiences and requirements of the participants in this
    course, different degrees of focus will be spent on the following four areas:
    I. Personality variables affecting teaching/learning styles.
    2.
    Teaching of compositiOn.
    3.
    The creative process.
    4. Major issues facing today's English teacher.
    REQUIRENENIS:
    Attendance, active participation, in and out of class creative writing,
    preparation of a brief (2 pages), but researched "issues paper" to be presented
    to the class in seminar fashion, and the development of curriculum for twenty
    hours of teaching in an English classroom. This last assignment is the major one
    and will be presented in two ways. First, as an hour of actual teaching to
    the class, secondly, as a detailed outline (not specific lesson plans) to be
    handed in to the instructor.

    Instead of a compulsory text, several compulsory readings will be distrubuted
    throughout the course, (with a covering fee charged).
