It is intended that students will:
a.
understand the concerns of curriculum theory that guide practical curriculum
development.
b.
be able to develop curricula for classroom use in chosen areas of interest.
Concept of education; needs of the learner; aims and objectives; curriculum design and
development; curriculum content; organization-subjects, processes, integration, experiences;
approaches to teaching and learning; the individual classroom; curriculum evaluation; new
proposals from the Ministry.

EVALUATION PROCEDURES:
An 8 item narrative styled test, wholistically scored, will be presented at the end of each of Parts VII
and XIII. The value of each part is as follows:
Test A (at the end of Part VII) will be valued as 20%.
Test B (at the end of Part XIII) will be valued as 30%.
Research Report
A research report of approximately 15-20 pages in length will be due at the end of Part V. Value
would be 15%.
Curriculum Design:
A curriculum design element either within a group or an individual setting will be done by the end
of Part XII and will be valued as 15%.
(a)
This may be done as part of a program evaluation or
(b)
may be done as a program development in a specific curriculum area of interest to
participants.
A variety of small reports and in-class projects will be presented through the thirteen parts with a
total value of 20%.
