    Curriculum Development and Application is designed to give the student
    an overview of the processes involved in planning and organizing
    instruction. Predominant emphasis is upon procedures used in determining
    appropriate instructional content. Among other topics, students will
    consider principles of curriculum development, evaluation mechanisms,
    implementation procedures, and alternative conceptions of schooling.
    Other topics include the implications of technology, probably societal
    trends in the short-term future, and various approaches to competency-
    based education. Each student will have an opportunity to develop an
    actual program of instruction in an area of personal choice.
