    AIM
    This course introduces teachers to the basic techniques and skills required to teach
    English as a second language.
    TOPICS
    1.
    How learning another language affects a child's or adolescent's social and
    cognitive development/The special needs of adults learning a second language
    2.
    The personality in other cultures.
    3.
    The major second-language teaching techniques.
    4.
    Helping students learn the sound system of English.
    5.
    Selecting transcultural literature for the classroom.
    6.
    The technology of writing.
    7.
    Helping students learn the syntax of English.
    8.
    Assessing students in integrated classrooms.
