    Establish an environment where E.S.L. teaching and learning can better occur

    Course Objectives:
    Students will be exnosed to:

    Some basic educational principles which are especially important to T.E.S.L.
    2.
    A sampling of cultural variations which can he significant in T.E.S.L.
    3.
    Recent approaches and methods from which the ecclectic can draw
    4.
    A few techniques used in each of the four skills - listening, speaking, reading,
    and writing

    1.
    Five quizzes based on lectures and assigned readings
    2.
    A final examination based on all coursework
    3.
    Four term assignments, one of which requires an in-class oral report
    4.
    Several minor assignments - individual, group, or class
    S. Two oral and written reports to he given in class
    6. Participation in class discussions and minor assignments
