Educ 465-4 : CHILDREN'S LITERATURE
This course will examine the various modes of children's
literature, (the picture book, poetry, novel, diary, legend,
myth, folktale, adolescent fiction, stories). Participants
will explore different techniques for assisting young people
in responding to what they listen to and read. Some of the
techniques used will be role-playing, story telling, choral
• ?
speaking, improvising, researching, writing, scripting and
using different media. While the literature of the past
will be examined, particular emphasis will be placed on
contemporary materials.
