Course Description
The course will focus on understanding the conditions under which
children learnq both within and
outside
school settings ?
Participants
in the course will examine philosophical issues pertaining to the
special educational needs of young children
?
Participants will
explore psychological isues related to the design of instructional
programs for young children. Throughout the course the emphasis will
be on program design that is (a) systematic in the achievement of
specific learning outcomes and (b) appropriate to the needs and nature
of young children
Students will complete a report on the design, implementation and
evaluation of an instructional program for one or a few children,
utilizing and/or testing instructional principles featured in the
course
