    General Objectives
    Students will become familiar with the characteristics of the learning of young
    children in both school and non-school settings. Students will also learn to
    design instructional experiences for young children across a variety of instruc-
    tional modes.

    REQUIREMENTS
    Term Paper. Students will select a topic from a list of suggestions for
    development into a discussion/argument of approximately 30 pages.
    Final Examination. A one-week takehome examination, due at the last class
    meeting.
    Curriculum Development Project. Students will work in small groups to develop
    a module of curriculum from a suggested list of
    objectives.
