    FOR SIX WEEKS
    The course will focus on three main areas:
    1.
    Selected
    ,
    curriculum content (past and present) of early
    childhood education programs.
    2.
    Developmental knowledge about young children's physical, social,
    and emotional growth and the learning process.
    3.
    Educational aspects of the home and community life of young
    children.
    The course format will be a combination of discussions of assigned
    readings, short lectures, and mini-workshops. There will be some
    use of videotape for diagnostic purposes.
    The course grade will be based on attendance, class participation,
    and the following three assignments:
    1 & 2
    Two written papers, one an observational study and the
    other program oriented (relating to areas 1 &
    2
    above).
    3
    A shared report (team or group) on home and community resources
    (related to area
