ectives of the Course
To provide an indepth study of major aspects of early
childhood education: e.g.
*
foundations of early childhood
curriculum development,, teacher training, the issue of enrichment.
and instruction, the importance of play, language development,
cognitive development in young children.- The course will not
specifically deal with the "how to" aspect of early childhood
education- 0
Rather I propose to examine major theoretical issues
to show their effect on practice
Course Format
This class will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays for four
hours. This four hour period will be generally, divided as follows:
2 hours of lecture and 2 hours for a seminar period. During the
seminar, information- concerning class projects and grading
procedures will be discussed In addition, seminars will provide
a platform for you to give feedback with respect to the course
material
