    Early Childhood Education
    Summer Session, 1978.

    This course will focus on the application of research to curriculum
    practice in programs for young children. Three separate areas of research
    and theory in child development will be examined, and their implications for
    teaching will be explored. The emphasis will be upon the practical application
    of concepts to the every day problems of classroom teaching, particularly
    teaching in kindergarten and the primary grades. Class activities will include
    brief lectures, film and videotape presentations, and small group projects.
    Requirements for this course will include: approximately 150 pages of
    reading per week, a minor and a major paper, and a final examination.
