COURSE DESCRIPTION:

459
is designed to cover a wide range of activities (Kindergarten to Grade twelve,) which
reflect the physical education curriculum as outlined in the Ministry of Education's Integrated Resource
Package. The course will incorporate theoretical and practical aspects in the areas of games, gymnastics
and dance. The planning of individual lessons,yearly programs and child growth and development
patterns, as they pertain to curriculum implementation, will also be considered. Students will participate
in each session at their own level of ability. Cross curricular integration of learning experiences will be
an integral part of the course.
ASSIGNMENTS:
1)
The development of an integrated learning experience based upon the Physical Education curriculum.
2)
A small group creation of an original minor / lead up game designed to fascilitate active participation
by all students.
3) Class participation.
REQUIRED BOOKS:
There is not a required textbook. However there will be an additional fee of $20 to cover the cost of the
photocopying of an extensive amount of course material and resources.
