COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course will cover the fundamentals of elementary physical education (K-7). Topics covered
include games, gymnastics, dance, individual/dual activities and alternate environment activities in
accordance with the K-7 Instructional Resource Package. Issues of program planning, lesson/unit
planning, assessment and evaluation, safety and liability, inclusive approaches and gender will be
embedded in the course topics.
COURSE EVALUATION
• Participation and in-class assignments - 40%
• Unit plan-20%
• Peer critique of unit draft - 10%
• Group lesson - 15%
• Observation/ philosophy statement - 15%
