    Teaching about Cultural Differences: a variety of curriculum materials
    and ways of using them will be examined. Possibilities for developing
    new materials will be' explored.
    2.
    Teaching in a Cross-Cultural Context: practical issues in teaching in
    integrated classes (or classes where the cultural background of the
    students is different fran that of the teacher) Are sara teaching
    strategies more effective than others?
    3.
    Historical, Social and Political Issues in Cross-Cultural Education:
    -What role has education played in perpetuating or levelling cultural
    differences in Canada?
    -Language, Culture and Education: (Are minority cultural or linguistic
    groups disadvantaged or different?)
    -Community Control in Education: (What are the rights of parents?)
    -Education and Equal Opportunity: (Is education having any impact on
    reducing poverty?)
    -Education in Third World Countries: (To what extent can it be a tool
    for achieving self reliance?)

    ability) begin to research and catalogue places and people in the Lower
    Mainland engaged in work in cross-cultural education. There is no
    canprehensive guide to such activities in East Indian, Chinese,
    Indian, and French cawnunities. Ca-piling this information can ' involve
    classroan visits.
