The aim of this course is to examine and elucidate key educational
concepts (such as 'education','knoWledge', 'learning', 'teaching',
'indoctrination', ?
etc.) that are

fundamental to the understanding,
evaluation and development of educational theories.

The course also
deals with the function of definitions, slogans, metaphors and models
in educational arguments as well as with the nature of educational
theory.
The course should be valuable not only to educators and prospective
teachers but to every person who has a serious interest in the study
of education.
