PREREQUISITE
60 credit hours.
DESCRIPTION
Education 426 is a course that explores the challenges faced by children
with low incidence disabilities (e.g., autism, severe developmental
disabilities) in a school environment. The focus of the course will be on
intervention approaches to assist children with special needs in the
classroom. Each student will be required to conduct a case study which
involves either (1) spending a minimum of 15 hours assisting a child or
adult with disabilities in a school and/or home environment or (2) reading
and reviewing a book focusing on the challenges faced by a child or adult
with disabilities.
COURSE ASSIGNMENTS
Case study - 30 marks
Case study presentation - 10 marks
Mid-term -30 marks
Final - 30 marks
