DESCRIPTION
Objectives:
Education 426 is a course that explores the challenges faced by children with communication (e.g., autism)
and/or genetic disorders (e.g., Down Syndrome, Fragile-X syndrome) in a school environment. The focus of
the course will be on language and behavioural intervention approaches to assist children with special needs in
the classroom. Each student will be required to conduct a case study that involves spending a minimum of 15
hours assisting a child with special needs in a school environment.
