COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed for senior students/teachers who wish to explore
psychological knowledge and counselling skills to be applied in classroom
settings. The emphasis will be on practical use of material, and the course will
consist of a combination of lectures, discussion with school counsellors,
seminars, library research, and practical exercises.
The following topics will be discussed: the role of counsellors, developmental
factors affecting children's mental health, the impact of traumatic events in
children's learning, and effective counselling skills for ESL students.
