    COURSE DESCRIPTION:
    This course is designed for senior students and practising teachers who wish to acquire
    psychological knowledge and counselling skills that can be applied in the classroom setting.
    The focus of the class will be on an eclectic approach to how children's problems develop and
    are maintained, and steps that teachers can take to prevent and help resolve problems within
    the classroom setting. Special topics will be considered, such as: classroom setting. Special
    topics will be considered, such as: classroom meetings, parent-teacher relationships,
    discrimination, abuse, self-esteem. The emphasis throughout will be on practical use of
    material covered in the course. Class activities will be varied, (lectures, discussions, group
    work, library research, skill practice), with a strong accent on student participation. Students
    should be prepared to share results of their work with others, in oral and/or written form.

    Assignment #2 and the first two parts of assignment #3 will receive 50% of the available points
