Objectives:

Education 424 provides SFIJ students with an opportunity to provide individualized instruction to

children with learning disabilities. In the Summer 2007 lab, SFU students will be responsible for a.)

conducting an informal assessment of each child's learning difficulties and b) providing intervention for

one hour/day during the tutorial sessions in the summer. Some visits to children's home schools will be

required prior to the summer tutorial. All Education 424 students will be required to obtain a criminal

record check prior to working with the children.

Time requirements:

Each SFU student will sign up for tutoring and lecture at ONE of three locations: Burnaby, Surrey OR

Harbour Centre. Each student will be required to attend a lecture as indicated as well as commit to a one

hour daily tutorial session, beginning Tuesday, July 3 and continuing Monday to Friday until Friday,

July 20th. Each SFU student will sign up for one time slot at time of registration, on a first-come,

first-serve basis.

PARTICIPATION IN THE DAILY TUTORIAL IN JULY IS
