COURSE OUTLINE
This course will provide:
1. An understanding of the educational difficulties encountered by learning disabled
students.
2.
Information about assessment, teaching methods and learning strategies.
3.
Practical experience with initial and on-going assessment and the development of
remedial programs.
4. An examination of various methods of reporting and record keeping.
5.
Experience in tutoring a learning disabled child.
ASSIGNMENTS

Task Analysis - 15%
2. Organization of test material - 5%
3.
Initial Assessment of Tutee (Testing & report) - 20%
4. IEP (Individualized Education Plan) for tutee, based upon initial assessment - 20%
5.
Instructional Evaluation of Tutoring - Report on the effectiveness of
teaching/tutoring strategies used during program - 30%
6.
Final Report to Parents - 10%
