Educ 422: Learning Disabilities
Course Content:
Includes task analysis and instructional programming, assessment
and data management; procedures for treating perceptual and
cognitive problems; behavior management; and reporting techniques.
Program will involve individual tutoring of a learning disabled student.
Prospective Educ 424 students should be prepared for minimum 3
hours per week, outside of class time, to allow for this tutoring, as well
as for travel to and from individual tutoring locales.
Assignments:
?
Include Assessment of tutee; IEP for tutee; Essay (critical evaluation
of selected teaching approaches); Instruction Evaluation of Tutoring
(reports on tutoring process and materials portfolio); and Report to
Parents. Details reassignments will be given at first
session.

Mann, P.H., Suiter, PA, and McClung. R.M. Handbook in
Diagnostic Teaching (3rd ed.), Allyn & Bacon, 1987.
