CALENDAR DESCRIPTION
Educ. 424-4: Learning Disabilities: Laboratory
Supervised experience in analysis and evaluation of treatment strategies to be
used with classroom students having learning disabilities.
Educ. 424-4 provides a "live" experience in tutoring. Course content will
include task analysis and instructional programming; assessment and data
management; procedures for treating perceptual and cognitive problems;
behaviour management; and reporting techniques. Assignments include
actual reports on assessment and tutoring. There is no exam in this course.
Details will be provided at the first class meeting.
Friday night sessions will be a lecture format. Saturdays will be a combination
of lectures, workshops, and time for dealing with specific issues related to the
tutoring. Tutoring will be set up in addition to the regular class hours; Students
will have access to instructor via telephone, between class sessions. A contact
person in Prince George will also be available.
