Course Objectives
1.
Through participation in lecture-discussions, demonstrations, reading
and practical work with individual children, teachers will gain competence
in the diagnosis and remediation of learning problems.
2.
Teachers will become aware of the range of materials available for
planning general remedial strategies for academic learning problems, and
will develop competency in selecting and using tests, instructional
techniques as well as instructional materials appropriate to the needs of
the children instructed.
Topics Covered
1.
Diagnosis and remédiàtion of reading problems.
2.
Diagnosis and remediation of Arithmetic.
3.
Diagnosis and remediation of Language.
4.
Record keeping and data management.
5.
learned helplessness and helping the disabled learner to cope.
6.
How to test a learning disabled child, using formal and informal materials.
7.
How to plan a remedial program.
Grading
Students' final grade will be composed of:
