DESCRIPTION
Introduction to the rationale for and the practice of basic counselling skills. Emphasis on the development of
counselling skills as a means of establishing effective helping relationships in educational settings. This is an
experiential-lased course; attendance at class and participation in activities is essential.
EVALUATION
Final grades will be based on the following:
1.
Written critiques of three transcribed active listening exchanges
2.
Stages of Skill Learning Reflection Paper
3.
Active Listening Program Evaluation
