DESCRIPTION
Introduction to the rationale for and the practice of basic counselling skills. Emphasis on the
development of counselling skills as a means of establishing effective helping relationships in
educational settings.
EVALUATION
Final grades will be based on the following:
1.
Written critiques of three transcribed active listening exchanges
(75%
of final grade)
2.
Reflection papers on stages of skill learning (15% of final grade)
3.
Active listening program evaluation (10% of final grade)
