    COURSE OBJECTIVES:
    This course focuses on imparting knowledge of the
    conceptual and theoretical issues in learning disabilities.
    At the end of the course, a student will demonstrate
    knowledge of:
    1. Conceptual problems of learning disabilities.
    2. The historical origin of the learning disabilities
    field.
    3.
    Theoretical attempts to explain learning disabilities,
    past and present.
    4. Basic's in assessment of academic learning
    disabilities.
    The student will demonstrate the ability to:
    1.
    Clearly conceptualize learning disabilities.
    2.
    Evaluate critically the theories put forth to
    explain learning disabilities.
    3.
    Outline strategies in assessing academic learning
    disabilities.
