COURSE OBJECTIVES:
This course focuses on imparting knowledge of the conceptual and
theoretical issues in Learning Disabilities.
At the end of the course, a student will demonstrate knowledge of:

Conceptual problems of learning disabilities
2.
The historical origin of the learning disabilities field
3.
Central issues and problems in the field, past and present

The student will demonstrate the ability to:

Clearly conceptualize learning disabilities
2.
Evaluate critically the theories put forth to explain learning disabilities
3.
Weight the implicati:ons (pro's and con's) of the central issues and problems.
GRADING
Two exams each accounting for 50 of the final grade.
