COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to provide an introduction to the use of technology to meet the
unique learning needs of special needs students in the regular classroom. The ten-day
format will consist of lecture, discussion, and lab experiences, as well as a reading day.
The course will involve the review of relevant literature and computer research studies;
introduction to the services and facilities of special education; review, evaluation, and
demonstration of software appropriate for special needs students; review and evaluation of
hardware for students with special needs; strategies for integrating technology into the
curriculum to meet unique learning needs; and introduction to emerging technologies
and their applications to special education.
